Badgers Inline Hockey Club
Badgers Inline Hockey Club—founded in 1999 in Windhoek—is one of the oldest and most established clubs in Namibia. With 134 active members, it has become a true hub for hockey enthusiasts of all ages. Over the years, the Badgers have nurtured countless passionate players, with a strong focus on junior development while warmly welcoming adult beginners. On the competitive front, the club has been a consistent force in the NIIHA leagues, proudly carrying its legacy of excellence.
At the forefront of this success is Head Coach Nadia Schmidt, a trailblazer in Namibian hockey. Leading both the National and Development Teams, Nadia made history this year as the first female coach to guide a Senior Men’s team to a podium finish, clinching Bronze at the World Games in Chengdu, China—a milestone that inspires both young athletes and seasoned players alike.
Driven by its ethos, the Badgers believe that sport is more than just competition—it’s a way of life. The club views hockey as a powerful teacher, shaping character, building resilience, fostering community awareness, and equipping players with tools for lifelong growth. At the heart of it all are strong family values and an inclusive spirit, making the club not only a team but a vibrant community both on and off the rink.
